Kontraskjæret

Kontraskjæret is a park next to the Akershus fortress. It was previously a part of the fortification but now this open space serves as the perfect place for concerts, pop-up amusement parks, and sports viewing. This summer, Fotballfesten.no has organized a grand World Cup viewing experience in Kontraskjæret, complete with food, drink and a ginormous screen.

The Dubliner

Since 1994, Dubliner has been a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike. Located near the City Hall, The Dubliner is a place to enjoy authentic pub food, sip on your favorite draft, listen to live music and, whenever it’s football season, watch the matches live on their screen.

The Scotsman

Karl Johans staple, The Scotsman, caters to everyone – and can keep you entertained all night long. This pub serves a fantastic BBQ burger (think fresh vegetables and well-cooked steak) and also offers live music and quizzes. The bar has a wide selection of beer, including local craft beers. Sports matches are always taken seriously here, so this is a great place to watch the World Cup.

Pokalen, a pub at Vulkan, is determined to give you the best World Cup experience this year. From June 14 until July 15, Pokalen and the whole area around it will turn into a big World Cup venue: think big screens, outdoor and indoor seating, food stations, an outside bar and a lot of drinks to wash down the games.

Another centrally located pub at Karl Johans is Sir Winston’s Public House, which promises to “show all the World Cup games, even the full ones”. Combine that with their cosy atmosphere, long opening hours and their eclectic food bites, and you’ve got your new favorite place to be.

Bohemen Sportspub has been around since 1998. Centrally located in Arbeidergata, this pub has always been a place for football enthusiasts – something that becomes clear the minute you walk in the door.
