Choosing the right yoga studio can be daunting, especially when Charlotte has dozens from which to choose. So, whether you want to stay in your neighborhood, find a yoga place near that brunch spot you want to try, or attempt a new style of yoga, read this list of the best yoga studios in Charlotte to help you decide which one fits your needs best.

Be Yoga

This flow-focused studio has two locations in Charlotte, and both have an artsy aesthetic that’s welcoming. Many classes are geared toward beginners, and for those that prefer all-levels yoga classes, Be Yoga’s regulars praise the Deep Stretch class. They also have instructors versed in some unique practices, such as aerial yoga and Nia, which follows a martial arts system.

Yoga One

Funky best describes the brightly painted, “designed to get your sweat on” Yoga One studios. Popular flow classes quickly fill up during peak times even though they have two locations, Central and Dilworth, which offer more than 70 classes per week. Hot yoga classes are also available here.

Y2 Yoga

Yoga Studio

This hot yoga studio employs some of Charlotte’s favorite instructors, earning six of the 23 top teacher spots by Charlotte Agenda. The weekly schedule includes over 100 classes, including their signature Y2 Yoga single and double shot classes of 14 standard postures, fast-paced flow classes, and Twilight classes with dimmed lights and mellow intensity. They also have on-site childcare for participating yogis.

NoDa Yoga

At NoDa Yoga, they focus on offering “a variety of upbeat styles of yoga with a focus on Gentle Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Slow Flow, [and] Chair Yoga Workshops.” The schedule includes both hot (95+ degrees [35°C]) and warm (up to 85 degrees [29°C]) classes, and partnerships with a Thai Yoga Therapy instructor and a massage therapist mean you can enjoy these services on-site as well.

The Yoga Center

Yoga Studio

Charlotte’s first yoga studio wants to be your go-to place for Iyengar yoga, a form of Hatha yoga emphasizing alignment. They share 8th Street Studio with North Carolina’s certifying center for Romana’s Pilates, Pilates Body Shaping. It’s best for students who can complete their six-week introduction series unless already well versed in the Iyengar method.

Charlotte Yoga

Yoga Studio

Many of the city’s top instructors also choose to teach out of either Charlotte Yoga’s Park Towne or South End location. Classes start at 5:30 am and end at 8 pm, so no matter your schedule, you can find something to fit your life. Be aware that peak times and popular classes can get jam-packed, and most classes are hot.

The Yoga Oasis

Yoga Studio

Another studio in which to try Hatha yoga is The Yoga Oasis, which has moved away from a hot-focused class schedule so that yogis can work on generating their own heat through traditional sequences. Many loyal students have been practicing here for all or most of their 16 years in business.

Enlighten

Head to Enlighten for your Bikram or hot yoga fix with over 65 classes offered every week. They also feature performance yoga classes that cater to athletes, runners, and cyclists, and attendees often appreciate the diversity of the classes offered here.

Yoga Shala

Yoga Studio

One instructor, two classes—that’s all that Yoga Shala offers. Attend the Sunday morning devotional class from 10–11:30 am for an asana practice that ends with 15 minutes of meditation or the Wednesday evening tantra vinyasa ParaYoga® class, meaning an emphasis on stillness and breathing exercises.

Vibe5

Fitness Studio, Yoga Studio

This untraditional yoga and fitness studio wants you to sweat, whether in their hot power or slow flow classes or unique classes like H3, an interval training-style class with a hip-hop soundtrack, or strength-focused classes that include weights. Other options that can help strengthen any yoga practice can also be found on their schedule, such as cardio- or strength-only classes.
