Eureka Springs Steep Winding Streets

Eureka Springs is well-known for ‘The Great Passion Play,’ and theater lovers flood here to enjoy the show. The production takes place in an outdoor amphitheater and includes live animals in its depiction of Jesus Christ’s last days on Earth. Visitors have been coming to Eureka Springs for a long, long time, and although this Ozark town is known today for its incredible Victorian architecture, art galleries, and natural beauty, the original attraction was the water. In the past, the Native American tribes of the area believed that the cold spring water could cure many illnesses and diseases, and the hills of Eureka Springs were believed to be full of miracle remedies.

People are still drawn to the healing power of this small community, but relaxation has replaced miraculous cures. The city is now full of stunning day spas and Victorian bed and breakfasts. Eureka Springs’ nationally-known Beaver Lake and Table Rock Lake also attract visitors to stop by the city and enjoy its beautiful scenery. However, besides these famous gems, the city still has many more low-key attractions that visitors can discover and enjoy, off-the-beaten-track.
