Created by Lisa Burghart and Anna Harwood, Rhythm Fit Club offers dance-based cardio classes that teach dance patterns and musical rhythms. The classes are designed to keep people moving and burn calories and are taught four days a week and incorporate jazz, ballet, hip-hop, and ballroom dance methods.

At Simply Balanced, you’ll find one-on-one and group Pilates classes for all levels of fitness and for people of all ages. Equipment classes, which are for groups, use a machine called a reformer, which employs a series of springs and pulleys to take you through a full-body workout. One-on-one classes focus on specific body issues (disc bulge, pregnancy, rotator cuff injury) and offer individual attention from an instructor. The studio also offers yoga classes and massages.

Owner Kate Curtis wanted to combine her love of the outdoors with Pilates and opened The Pilates Garage in Hillsboro Village. The facility is a boutique reformer studio that offers 50-minute high-energy classes. With both private and group classes, The Pilates Garage keeps group sizes small, with a maximum of six people per class, which allows for an intimate experience where students can focus on full-body awareness.

The only Pilates studio in Nashville to have three physical therapists as instructors, Swell Studio offers Pilates reformer instruction. With eight classes a day and eight balanced body reformer machines, Swell Studio offers private, semi-private, and group classes. Instructors use their musculoskeletal and neuromuscular knowledge to reduce pain and optimize movement during the sessions. All of the instructors have been through intense training, which includes 100 hours of observation by a skilled instructor.

In 2010, HOTBOX Fitness made its way to the Gulch area of Nashville. Today, the studio is a place where the latest tunes blast and encouraging instructors pump people up while they’re working out. The programs at HOTBOX are designed for clients at every fitness level. In 2012, the facility started its “STRENGTH” program, which achieves to increase overall strength and muscle endurance. The program uses treadmills and kettlebells to help people quickly achieve their fitness goals. The studio also offers yoga classes.

With nine challenging workout stations developed by a world champion kickboxer, 9Round Kickboxing offers a unique approach to kickboxing. The fitness program incorporates interval, cardiovascular, and circuit training regimens that you can do at your convenience. There are no class times at 9Round, but trainers assist you with doing exercises based on your personal fitness level. The exercise stations rotate every three minutes, with a trainer helping at every station. Equipment like dumbbells, medicine balls, and kettlebells are used to build strength and stamina.
