Rooms are individually styled, with chintz wallpaper, vintage rugs and pot plants. Families are well catered for – family rooms sleep up to four and the suite can sleep five. The hotel can organise guided hikes or snowshoeing trips, and there’s live music in the restaurant in the evenings.

Located close to the station and main street, you can ski back to within just a few metres of the main entrance. Expect smart, contemporary decor and plenty of wood. The best of the 120 rooms (which include family rooms) are the Panoramic Superior doubles – they have superb views over the valley and to the Jungfrau.
