Born in Los Angeles and living in Tel Aviv, Sheerle Dove always had a passion for working out and exercising while maintaining a stable and positive state of mind. Dove spends her days outside, where she is able to train in the fresh air by the sea breeze. She lived in an Israeli community village, kibbutz, during her army service and traveled to the North and South of Israel, to visit places she had never seen before.

What is the most unusual workout request someone has ever asked you?

I’ve been asked to sit next to someone while he attempted to hold a plank… It was unusual, but I think that it’s important to find unique ways to motivate your clients, and this happened to work fine.

What advice would you give to someone who was trying to break into personal training?

I would advise them to make sure that this is their passion. Especially if you’re a woman, in this industry you have advantages and disadvantages, so it is very important to represent yourself professionally. I have been put in situations where I was not taken seriously, and it gets very frustrating. The course is obviously crucial to learn, but the important aspects are in the actual experience of training someone. It’s also interesting to see how different people operate and watch as they transform and improve physically and mentally.

What’s next?

Currently, I’m working on advancing in the fitness fashion industry. I eventually want to produce my own fitness fashion line as well. The line will be cruelty-free which means no child labor or animal cruelty, and most importantly, it will be affordable. I also plan on eventually opening up my own fitness center, which will include classes and healthy meal options as well.

How would you like to be remembered?

I would like to be remembered as someone who changed someone’s world for the better. Being a trainer isn’t just giving someone a chance to workout. I believe that its my job, as well transforming them physically and mentally. If you aren’t in a stable place mentally, your physical work won’t be stable, either. Most people do yoga… well, I practice yoga. Yoga is more than stretching the body for an hour. There is a meditative aspect to it. So there is with fitness. Fitness is the general state of good health, and that involves nutrition and mental health. My favorite quote is: ‘Be someone you want to be around.’ I try to incorporate this into my training. I want to be remembered for being a fun, motivational, and a unique trainer.

If you weren’t a personal trainer, what would you be doing?

I believe I would be in holistic studies. I’m a firm believer that there is a cure for everything on this planet. Not everything needs to be filled with chemicals or surgically removed. I obviously support Western medicine, but more in terms of it being used as an emergency service. Many people go to a doctor for a sore throat or high cholesterol and I think those things are easily treatable at home with ingredients that could be found in your back yard or even growing in your kitchen. I could also see myself traveling a lot more and learning from first hand experiences in India.

How would you describe yourself in 80 characters?

Active, outgoing, understanding, compassionate, strong, personable, and a leader.
