The 10 Best Rooftop Bars in Portland
Have a drink with a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of the Rose City at these 10 rooftop bars.
Rooftop bars are all the rage in cities like New York and Los Angeles, and the Pacific Northwest is starting to take note. Portland is slowly building up its arsenal of places to sip beer, wine, cider and cocktails while taking in a gorgeous view of the city. However, its 44 inches of annual rainfall makes rooftop bars a little impractical.
These 10 establishments throw practicality to the wind—they might be most populated just two months of the year (summers in Portland tend to go from the beginning of July to the beginning of September). However, locals and visitors are grateful for a place to drink from up top. Here are the 10 best rooftop bars to check out in Portland and take in the summer.

Revolution Hall’s Roof Deck might possibly have the best view of any rooftop bar in the city. The bar is perched on the roof of a high school-turned-concert venue and boasts a 360-degree view of Portland and the West Hills. Though the bar is open mid-April through mid-October, it is weather-permitting, so make sure to check the site for current hours. Want to know what you’re missing? Kids are prohibited, but smoking is not.

In Portland, even the grocery stores have rooftop bars. Or, at least, one of them does. The New Seasons Woodstock location boasts a 100-seat, all-weather rooftop bar. And yes, it’s a real bar, complete with beer and cider taps, a growler station, fire pits, and even a children’s play area.
