The Best Cafés and Coffee Shops in Montreux, Switzerland
The relaxed town of Montreux hugs the shore of Lac Léman in western Switzerland. But don’t let this tranquil veneer fool you, the town hosts the Montreux Jazz Festival every summer, which is one of the best festivals in the country. With a history stretching back over one hundred years, Zurcher is a mainstay of the Montreux café scene. Chocolate, pastries and ice cream are all on the menu in their cosy ‘Parisian’ tea room, as well as the best cup of coffee that you’ll find in town. For an extra treat, try the house specialty hot chocolate.

Montreux Jazz Café

For fans of jazz, a visit to the Montreux Jazz Café is a must. Its cool interior is littered with all sorts of memorabilia and the Café’s big screen plays highlights from some of the big names that have graced the stages of the annual Jazz Festival. Pick from a full menu or some tapas and nibbles from Funky Claude’s Bar. Music fans will be glad to hear that the Jazz Café is also one of the best venues for live music in town, with regular shows.
