The Best Hostels on Bui Vien Street, Ho Chi Minh City
Bui Vien Street is the focal point of parties and rowdiness in Ho Chi Minh City. It’s a dirty stretch of immorality which never sleeps, and where a steady stream of backpackers get dropped off by bus from places like Phnom Penh, Dalat, and Nha Trang. There are many great hostels in the area, but we limited this article to places with actual Bui Vien addresses. So, if you want to be as close to the action as possible, here are the hostels to stay at.
New Saigon Hostel
Hostel
New Saigon Hostel puts you right at the heart of Bui Vien. The nice thing about their spot, though, is that they’re also next to some excellent cafes and restaurants, so you can easily get recharged in the morning after a big night out. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, their breakfast is decent and they also have a reliable laundry service. Great choice overall.
Lily's Hostel
Hostel
Lily’s Hostel is in a perfect spot because it’s down a quiet alley off of Bui Vien, so you can escape the madness without having to walk too far. The staff are warm and the rooms are well-furnished, though simple. Their breakfast is good, too, and drinks are reasonably priced. Really, you can’t go wrong staying here.
Bui Vien Hostel, 205/12 Bùi Viện
Hostel
Though not directly on Bui Vien, it’s actually better because you can leave the noise behind when you want to get some rest and relaxation. Don’t worry though, it isn’t a long walk at all. The rooms are simple but they’re more than good enough, and the price is perfect for budget travellers. They also have giant lockers for you to store your stuff, which is nice as Bui Vien is a haven for thieves.
Vintage Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City
Hotel
Probably the best part about Vintage is their staff, who go out of their way to help people new to the city. They’re quite helpful when it comes to arranging tours. This hotel-slash-hostel has free breakfasts as well so you can save a bit of money. Very nice for budget travellers.
