Thousand Hills is a golf resort for both amateurs and pros and there are plenty of accommodation options available – from condos to cabins. And, although the log cabins are referred to as “rustic”, don’t let the knotty pine fool you – they all feature the comforts of luxury accommodation. Even the most basic cabins include a gas fireplace, plush leather couch and armchair, whirlpool tub and covered deck overlooking the woods. The size makes them doable – and affordable – for a small family but perfect for a romantic getaway for two. Need more space? The log cabins also offer two-bedroom and four-bedroom configurations.

This truly is the best place to stay in Branson when you’re having a reunion of any kind. With lodges as large as 10 bedrooms with nine bathrooms, you can stay together with up to 25 of your closest friends and family in comfort. One of the larger lodges features a seven-person white leather sectional sofa in the living room, a 10-person farmhouse style dining table and a stone firepit with reclaimed wood benches in the back. The more the merrier, we say.

While the lobby may be surprisingly ho-hum, the suites here are an all-out Elvis Presley fest, so it feels totally Branson. One suite features a living/dining room with a purple accent wall, purple velvet drapes and at least five framed portraits of the King himself. Don’t forget the 50s tan pleather bar in the corner. You’ll also find a bed with a black velour cover adorned by a larger-than-life jumpsuit Elvis belting out a tune. Other delights are a white Elvis suit in a glass case, an original Wurlitzer jukebox – this is a musical city, after all – an outdoor pool, and an 18-hole golf course.

The Speakeasy’s signature cocktail – the Al Capone – includes rye whiskey, Campari, vermouth and orange zest on the rocks. There are also other old-timey sounding beverages, like the Bee’s Knees, the Mary Pickford and the Sidecar. Hungry? Capone’s Speakeasy also offers charcuterie plates, flatbread pizzas, plus indulgent steak dinners to fill you up – complete with loaded baked potato, Caesar salad and grilled Texas toast.

Go for a standard bed decked out in all-Elvis bedding, or for real retro vibes, opt for a blue clam-shaped round bed with mirrors on the top.
