The Best Places to Stay in Lublin, Poland
Lublin is a marvellous city in eastern Poland with a picturesque Old Town, some darker history and many intriguing pieces of architecture. From the enclosed Old Town walls to Lublin Castle to the horrors of Majdanek death camp, it’s a city worth a few days of your time. You’ll be glad to know there are plenty of accommodation options to choose from, too.

For a cosy backpacker-style option, spend a night or two in the Folk Hostel. It’s a great value place right in the centre. There are single rooms as well as doubles, twins and six-bed dorm rooms. There is a common room, and Wi-Fi is free. Parking is available, and breakfast is available for a fee. The Folk Hostel has a great reputation and a good social atmosphere, and the interior design is open plan and bright. Rooms are clean, and the staff are welcoming and friendly.

This splendid building is a work of art to be admired all on its own. That’s before you even step inside what is now the IBB Grand Hotel. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. A swanky lobby greets you on arrival, and there is an exquisite bar and restaurant serving up anything from pierogi to pizza. Local phone calls from the room are free of charge. Each room has a television and a mini-bar. Even if you are not staying here, it’s a beautiful building to visit for the sheer grandness of the architecture and design.

The intriguingly titled Rezydencja Cleopatra is indeed named after Cleopatra, the Egyptian Queen. Rezydencja Cleopatra is well located – right in the heart of the Old Town – thus making it a great option for those who like a late-night stroll or tipple in the poky old streets of Lublin. The hotel is attached to a restaurant, so great food is also served downstairs. Rooms are unexpectedly arty looking, and breakfast is included in the price. Wi-Fi is free throughout, and the guest house also has some seating near the stairs outside the rooms. The restaurant also acts as a bar, so it is perfect for those not needing an early night’s sleep.

The location of Hotel Europa is excellent, as it is right in front of Park Litewski and the Old Town is only a five-minute walk.

There are five apartment-style rooms which don’t get much more central. It’s on the main Old Town Square (the Rynek), so a nice option for those wanting to sample the bars of Lublin by night. The rooms here are all different and offer a truly elegant and relaxing atmosphere. One of the double rooms is lined with a golden wood finish. Another has a purple sofa and a writer’s desk. Some of the rooms have a large kitchen with a kettle, a fridge, a table and a toastie maker. If it’s not busy, you’ll be able to choose the perfect room for yourself. There is free Wi-Fi in each room, but pets are not allowed.
