Being an archipelago with over 330 islands, fish forms a staple part of the diet for Fijians and those visiting the Fiji Islands. In fact, one of Fiji’s most famous dishes, kokoda, is made from raw fish. A variety of succulent deep-sea fish are on offer – such as tuna, marlin, mahi mahi, wahoo, and walu – as well as other seafood, such as crayfish, crab and prawns.

Tiko’s Seafood Restaurant is a favorite for those in Suva. The restaurant itself is actually a former cruise ship, which is now permanently moored in the harbor near Stinson Parade, offering some of the best sunset views in the capital. Expect to feast on grilled fish and seafood platters while enjoying live jazz in the background.

Surf'n'Turf

This humble restaurant in Savusavu, on Vanua Levu, is somewhat deceiving. From the main road, the restaurant looks nothing more than a fast food outlet with simple signage. But enter from the harbor side and you will see the restaurant in its full glory, with views out to the marina and some of the most upmarket and fancy seafood meals on the island. It is almost a rite of passage to dine here at least once when visiting Savusavu.

Bonefish

Restaurant, Seafood

Bonefish Seafood Restaurant in Denarau is about the freshest fish of the day and has a strong farm-to-plate concept. Bonefish offers traditional seafood dishes such as chowder, shrimp cocktail and lobster. It also serves authentic Fijian seafood cuisine – such as kokoda, the Fijian version of ceviche – and some of the signature dishes include crab curry and the Bonefish grill of walu, calamari and prawn cutlets.

Situated on its own private island at the Warwick Resort along Fiji’s Coral Coast, Wicked Walu allows you to dine while enjoying some of the best ocean views in the region, ensuring the full ocean experience both in terms of food and ambience.

Snuggled in a private setting in Wailoaloa Beach, Mamasake will delight the taste buds with its unique sushi flavors and combinations. When possible, it uses organic and locally sourced rice and produce, while it also has a strong focus on using sustainably sourced seafood.

Sentai Seafood Restaurant

Restaurant, Seafood, Chinese

While Sentai is a seafood restaurant, it specializes in Asian fusion cuisine and hotpot meals, with a hint of island flair for an affordable price. The interior may appear humble, but the food is spot-on, with generous servings.
