The Best Things to Do in Kiev at Night
The nightlife in Kiev is extremely diverse. From spirited dancing and drinks at the clubs to the mysterious tours and romantic sunrises — you can easily find an activity suited to your preferences. If you’d like to simply enjoy yourself, there are a lot of atmospheric restaurants in Kiev that are open round the clock. Here are our top picks for activities in Kiev after the sun goes down.
Dance the night away at the club
The best time to party is, of course, Friday and Saturday, though most of the Kiev’s nightclubs welcome guests seven days a week. Starting at 11pm, you can plunge into the fun until 6am. Some of the posh nightclubs invite local DJs who play pop music, have a dress code and practice ‘face control‘. Meanwhile, late-night venues for the younger crowd usually offer parties with foreign musicians, an entrance fee and extremely delicious cocktails. One of such places is called Closer. Its parties are so good that it was included in the list of the Top 20 nightclubs in the world.

Go to the movies after midnight
11pm is not the latest time you can go to a movie showing in Kiev. Whether after a stroll through the spectacular courtyards of Kiev, a romantic dinner at a restaurant or drinks with friends, there are plenty of cinemas where you watch a premier at midnight or 1am. So, if you’re up for it, buy some popcorn and drinks and settle down for a couple of hours.
Greet the sunrise at the Arch of Diversity
The Arch of Diversity is an architectural composition in the form of a huge rainbow. It is a tourist attraction, located at the end of the Khreschatyk Street (the main street in the Ukrainian capital). Here, at any time of the day, you can marvel at the breathtaking view over Kiev: the Left Bank, the Dnipro River and its numerous bridges, and the historical area of Podol. The panorama is so good that it is the venue where school graduates meet to greet the sunrise after the prom. You should join them.
Spend the night in a museum
Trying to keep pace with global trends, the museums and art galleries of Kiev celebrate International Museum Day on May 18 and open their doors at night. Thus, at the Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko Museum of Arts, also known as the Museum of Western and Oriental Art, a theatrical excursion is organized, new exhibits are presented and lectures are held. The National Art Museum of Ukraine welcomes everyone to enjoy the visual arts and music. However, it is not the only day when Kiev’s museums are open at night. Check the schedules for evening hours and have an unusual experience.
Get a delicious meal at 3am
Kiev is an ever-bustling capital, therefore, you can have a late dinner or early breakfast at any time of the day. The only thing to be aware of is that most of the venues open round the clock are located in the city centre. The entertainment complex Arena City, a famous venue among locals, is one of such places. It has a large number of cafés and restaurants where you can grab a meal. The Burger, with hearty American food, is one of such places. If you’re craving something more exquisite and light, Under Wonder is an ideal spot. It serves Italian cuisine, prepared according to the chef’s unique interpretation.

Go skinny dipping in the Dnipro River
If you’d like to bring some fun memories back from your trip to Ukraine, gather up the courage and do something crazy. For example, you can party in the summer open-air club “UBK Beach” that is located on the stunning Trukhaniv Island. This huge area is surrounded by the Dnipro River and sand, therefore, it will be quite easy to throw off your clothes and run into the water. Surely, you’ll remember that night forever.
Book a night tour around the ancient Podol area
If you’re a night owl, you can not only party and grab a late-night bite but also explore the city of Kiev. Special attention should be paid to the ancient Podol district, where artisans and merchants used to live. There are a lot of cosy streets and courtyards hidden away, and the area is full of mysterious stories connected to the founding of Kiev. Most importantly, find a local guide who will show you the best of the area.
