Boise’s Movie Theaters are a great place for a family outing, a hangout with friends, or a fun date. Perhaps you’d like to see a classic movie in a historic theater, or enjoy a action packed film shown on IMAX. Fortunately, you can do both in Boise.

The Flicks is a 4 screen theater dedicated to independent and art house films. The theater also features Rick’s Cafe, where moviegoers can have a glass of wine, a beer, and a meal before they see the movie. The Flicks often plays Hollywood classics as well, so check on the website to see if one of your favorite movies is now playing.

Overland Park Cinemas

In a world of constantly rising ticket prices, Overland Park Cinemas stands alone as Boise’s premier budget movie theater. For just $5 you can see a movie, snack on popcorn, and sip on a medium soda. On Tuesdays, tickets are $1! Overland doesn’t play movies that have just come out, but they do have a large variety of popular movies from this year, and years ago.

Edwards Boise 21 & IMAX

The Edwards Boise 21 & IMAX is your typical movie going experience. We recommend seeing an action/adventure movie at the IMAX theater, or a film that focuses on visual effects rather than storytelling. Check the website for details regarding booking the special events room.

Egyptian Theatre

The Egyptian Theatre in Boise is one of the most historically significant buildings in Boise, and the actual theater may be more visually impressive than the movie you are seeing. The Egyptian Theatre opened in the late 1920’s, and its gold adorned walls have held happy moviegoers ever since. Beyond movies, the Egyptian Theatre is home to live music, lectures, and Opera Idaho.
