Bender
Bender
An architectural gem of the 16th century, Bender Fortress is located near the medieval city of Bender (also known as Bendery and Tighina) on the right bank of the Dniester River. Originally built as a wooden fort, it was developed into a full structure during the Ottoman period and was of great historical importance. Made of limestone and brick, it is now surrounded by a Russian military zone. Even if you don’t manage to go inside, it will definitely offer you some breathtaking view to remember.

The Prison Castle
Featuring a complex design, the Prison Castle or Earthen Fortress was built during the 19th century. Back then, utility rooms, a guardroom and prison cells were connected and located around the building, divided into male and female areas. Since then, there have been three escape attempts that still add a veil of mystery to the building.
Tower of Winds

This unique monument in the north of Transnistria was built in the late 19th century. The Tower of Winds, almost five meters high and made of stone, has been in danger of collapsing after a lightning struck the building in 2002. Fortunately, local authorities have begun a restoration that will enable you to observe some spectacular views from its location.
Orhei
Orhei
Situated in central Moldova, it is not only one of the oldest cities of Moldova, but also a unique natural and historical open-air complex. At Old Orhei, you will find several monumental stone constructions that have been fascinating the scientific community and wider public.
