The Perfect Walking Guide to Green Bay, Wisconsin
While Green Bay may not be the most walkable city in Wisconsin, some parts of town are easy to travel by foot. The area near Lambeau Field, for example, has several attractions within walking distance just waiting to be explored, so fret not if you find yourself in Ashwaubenon without a car.
A. National Railroad Museum
You can begin your walk at the National Railroad Museum, one of the oldest and biggest of its kind. This museum is dedicated to the preservation of the country’s railroad history. Get up close and personal with steam locomotives as well as World War II-era trains. There are also several events taking place here throughout the year that are not to be missed.
B. Bay Park Square
C. Don Hutson Center
The Don Hutson Center is a straight shot down from Bay Park Square and is reachable by foot in under 30 minutes. The center is an indoor training facility for the Green Bay Packers, but on certain days, fans can watch their favorite players practice on the field outside.
D. Lambeau Field
Located directly across the street from the Don Hutson Center is the legendary Lambeau Field. Home to the Green Bay Packers, it is the oldest continuously operating stadium in the NFL. Explore the complex on a stadium tour, or simply swing by the Packers Pro Shop to pick up the latest team merchandise.
E. Packers Hall of Fame
The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame stands within the Lambeau Field complex, so you won’t have to walk far to learn more about the history of Wisconsin’s favorite team or view their Super Bowl trophies. The interactive museum gives visitors the opportunity to learn about some of the team’s greatest moments from the people who lived it.
F. Badger State Brewing Company
Finish off your Green Bay walking tour with a visit to the Badger State Brewing Company, which is only a 15-minute walk from the Packers Hall of Fame. With 24 Wisconsin beers on tap, grabbing a pint in their beer-only tap room is a great way to relax after a busy day.
