This adorable café was built in 1911 and originally served as a saddler’s shop and later as a goldsmith’s shop. Despite being extensively restored by the descendants of the original saddler, the café still feels like a relic of the past with original walls, flooring and roof as well as the same pictures and furniture. The café, which is at the top of a long set of stairs, serves breakfast, pastries and lunch with a focus on homemade varieties. The breakfast menu includes ‘Morgunverður Steina frænda’ or ‘The Breakfast of Cousin Steina’, which includes homemade bread, scrambled eggs, ham, cheese and vegetables. You can also go for the Breakfast Meatloaf.
