This Is the Cheapest Beautiful Beach City in the World
It’s a new year. What better time to start considering a better lifestyle filled with less stress and more fun? Well, if you dream is living the tropical life without breaking the bank, we have your solution.
Welcome to Hoi An, Vietnam ladies and gentleman.
Bordered by uncrowded, white sand beaches on one side and lush, green mountains on the other, the pace of life in this small Vietnamese city, full of bright yellow buildings, is far more relaxed than in its cosmopolitan counterparts, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.
Hoi An’s Ancient City is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, giving you a glimpse of unparalleled beauty – both natural and constructed.
Accommodation in this paradise will cost you no more than $500 (£370) for a fully kitted out two-bed pad. A motorbike is the best way to get around the beautiful town – and even that only costs $45 (£33) a month. Assuming you want to eat at more expensive restaurants, your monthly cost of living shouldn’t go above $1,350 (£995) for two! ($650 (£480) each).
The fresh fish and produce in this quaint town are some of the best in the world and the street markets will no doubt prove your favourite place to shop!
In terms of moving to the Southeast Asian country, the visa situation in Vietnam is very doable. Foreigners can get permission to live and work in the country for up to a year, and this can be extended when the time comes. Although non-Vietnamese citizens are prohibited from owning land, there is a 50-year land lease option available.
The official language in Hoi An is, of course, Vietnamese, but English is a close second, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble with communication.
The other great thing about the stunning beach town? Compared with the rest of the country, the traffic is quite minimal, which means you can spend more time enjoying the sites and less time getting there.
Let’s pack immediately.
