If you’re looking to explore style ideas that are a bit edgier than Ikea or Bed Bath and Beyond, and you have the resources to kick it up a notch, here are seven of the best home and interior design stores in Toronto.

DesignRepublic

Located around Queen and Bathurst, DesignRepublic has been in operation since 2010. What started as a wholesale showroom has since evolved into a must-visit home design destination in the city. With the mantra of “Furniture for the People,” DesignRepublic specializes in pieces such as solid wood and steel tables, industrial designs, and vintage pieces.

Elte MKT

Elte is considered to be one of the leading high-end furniture retailers in Toronto. Founded in 1919 in Paris, Elte came to the city in 1944 with the vision of providing a range of unique home décor from around the world in one location. Elte MKT is a new spot located close to the original showroom in the Castlefield Design District in York. This 40,000-square-foot (3,716-square-meter) former factory is intended to cater to an urban, slightly younger demographic designing their first house—or condo.
