Trends From Miami Swim Week by Art Hearts Fashion
Proving that summer is far from over, Miami Swim Week – powered by Art Hearts Fashion – presented the 2018/2019 collections at Miami’s Faena Forum, drawing the largest crowds in the event’s history.
“We had a record number of designers presenting along with the most leading brands in the industry,” said Erik Rosete, Founder and President of Art Hearts Fashion International in a press statement. The event, held at the new landmark space Faena Forum designed by Shohei Shigematsu, drew over 10,000 attendees. “We wanted to showcase the diversity, fun, and sexiness that are indicative of Miami and swimwear,” Rosete said.
Runway shows displayed innovative looks in swimwear – some more wearable than others (the gold leaf swimwear by Black Tape Project was stunning, but perhaps best reserved for the catwalk.) Below is a roundup of the most interesting trends of the Miami Swim Week, lest you think summer is drawing to an end.
High-cut silhouette
High-waisted bottoms
California native Trina Turk has been a leading swimwear and resort line for years. This summer, her two-pieces sport a high-waist trend, proving that a bikini doesn’t need to be tiny to have major sex appeal.

Adjustable straps
In 2017, Magali Aravena launched her eponymous line. This season, the designer favors adjustable straps to give the wearer added comfort and confidence.
Crochet coverups
The Lila Nikole Collection calls itself couture for the handmade accent pieces. Here, the crochet coverup leaves less to the imagination, drawing attention to your physique.

Intricate cutouts
Cutouts continue to dominate one-pieces. At ROSE PAULINO, cutouts are used to elongate the body.
Coordinating accessories
Born in Casablanca, designer Daniel Bohbot of Hale Bob draws on a Parisian aesthetic for his 2018 line. Jazz up a classic black tank with coordinating resort accessories.

At Mr. Turk by Trina Turk, caftans prove to be a unisex essential, taking you from beach to bar.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.
Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.
Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.
We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
