The Best Camping and Glamping Experiences You Can Have
Our small-group trips are all about immersing you in a destination, and there’s no better way of doing that then by embracing nature with your accommodation. From desert camps to luxury glamping sites, these are the best camping experiences you can have with Culture Trip.
Zebra Plains Camp – Immersive Kenya
It doesn’t get more special than glamping in the Masai Mara. Kenya’s iconic wildlife reserve – which is home to the Big Five, as well as giraffes, cheetah and migrating wildebeests – is one of the most extraordinary places in the world to experience nature at its most natural. This luxury safari camp is perfectly placed in the heartlands of the Mara, allowing you to go on expert safari drives and visit local Masai tribes. Tented rooms are furnished with comfy beds and modern amenities, but the communal spaces are what makes this place special. There’s the bush spa, indoor and outdoor dining, a bar and plenty of lounge space. You can enjoy views of the surrounding Mara from pretty much anywhere in the camp, but the best spot to watch the sun go down is unquestionably the communal fire-pit – keep an eye out for animals passing by throughout the day. You’ll get to spend three unforgettable nights at Zebra Plains Camp during our Immersive Kenya trip. See you in the Savannah!

Magic Galapagos Camp – Go Wild in the Galapagos
The extraordinary biodiversity of the Galapagos Islands can’t be found anywhere else on Earth, and the best place to experience it unfiltered is up in the highlands of Santa Cruz, where you’ll find this secluded rural retreat. The campsite features just six safari-style tents and four treehouses, all equipped with comfortable beds and private bathrooms. The entire 99acre (40ha) site is designed to keep the surrounding flora and fauna undisturbed, most notably the hundreds of giant tortoises who freely roam around the camp. There are two onsite restaurants – one is set within a lava cave system – and a lovely meadow deck perfect for winding down for the evening. You’ll spend two nights at Magic Galapagos Camp on our Galapagos trip, giving you plenty of time to befriend some giant tortoises and marvel at the surrounding beauty of this unique archipelago.

Desert Camp Jaimas Madu – Epic Morocco
There’s something particularly serene about camping out in the desert, with nothing else to be seen other than rolling dunes stretching out as far as the eye can see. There’s also something extra special about sleeping in the world’s largest, most iconic hot desert – the Sahara. That’s where you’ll find this oasis, nestled amid the golden sands of Erg Chebbi. The cosy haima tents are traditionally decorated and come with private bathrooms and ensuite showers – hot water and electricity, of course – white mint tea and hearty Berber desert cuisine is served around a campfire, or in the communal tent. You’ll spend a night at Jaimas Madu Camp on our comprehensive 11-day tour of Morocco. Our stay includes a wine tasting, followed by a stargazing session with a professional astronomer. The following morning we’ll rise early to go on a memory-making camel ride through the Sahara at sunrise – talk about bucket-list experiences.

Campiness and Farmsook – Thailand and Laos by Train
We’ve covered deserts, remote islands and the African savannah, but how about glamping out in the jungle? Join us on our two-week Southeast Asian Rail Trip through Thailand and Laos for a truly unique accommodation experience in Northern Thailand. This scenic campsite, encircled by mountainous rainforest, offers high-end immersion within the tropical landscapes of Chiang Mai. Tents are cosy and cute, with comfy floor mattresses, showers and even decent wifi. This place is all about location, location, location, with stunning misty mountain views that can be enjoyed from the lobby terrace, easy access to a pretty little river – perfect for a refreshing morning dip – and a cosy campfire for everyone to gather round at night. The best bit? Unquestionably the onsite barbecue, which we’ll make full use of on our Thailand and Laos trip, which spends a night barbecuing and sharing campfire tales at Campiness and Farmsook.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.
Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.
Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.
Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.
We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
