The Best Private Trips to Book in Thailand
Whether you’re interested in the jungles of Chiang Mai, the coastlines of Phuket or the bustling streets of Bangkok, you’re best off exploring Thailand with a private guide on one of our immersive itineraries, which you can also book as a private trip.
There’s plenty of pros for going private. Obviously it means you can keep the guest-list locked down, so you can enjoy memory-making travel experiences with only the ones you love most. It also allows for far greater flexibility on travel dates, group sizes (minimum of 4) and even age requirements. Simply get in touch with our Travel Experts to organise your personalised Culture Trip adventure.
Tropical Northern Thailand
If jungles, temples and waterfalls – so many waterfalls – sounds like paradise, then our 10-day tour of Thailand’s northern region is the itinerary for you and your group. We’ll meet up in Chiang Mai, a gorgeous mountainous city that you’ll get to know on a walking tour, as well as a street art and street food cycling trail. After that we leave civilisation behind to go on a jungle adventure, starting with an exploration of the scenic canyon and sticky waterfalls of Pai. Explore one of the country’s largest caves using a raft, soak off in hot springs and have the chance to hurl yourself down a natural waterslide. In Mae Hong Son we’ll trek through the jungle and discover an incredible sunset spot, but the trip highlight comes on our last full day, when we set the alarms early for a stunning sunrise hike up Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s tallest peak. As if that wasn’t enough, we’ll follow it up with a visit to an ethical elephant sanctuary, where you’ll get the chance to walk with, bathe and feed these majestic mammals before returning to Chiang Mai.

Incredible Thailand and Laos by Train
Why stop with just Thailand? Southeast Asia is full of incredible destinations, and this epic two-week itinerary utilises rail travel to tackle Thailand and Laos in just one trip. We’ll start in Bangkok and explore the nearby ancient ruins of Sukhothai, a former Khmer city turned historical park. We’ll hop on a train to Chiang Mai for a street food and city sightseeing tour, as well as an authentic Thai cooking class. Then it’s time to hit the jungle for a night of glamping, preceded by elephant bathing, bamboo rafting and a jungle barbecue. After crossing the border into Laos we’ll go cruising down the Mekong River, trek to the spectacular Kuang Si Falls and kayak along the Nam Song River. Then it’s time to cross back into Thailand, taking the sleeper train to Bangkok, where you’ll round off your multi-country vacation with a walking tour and farewell dinner in the Thai capital.

Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam
Two countries not enough for you? How about three then! Bangkok is once again the starting point of this amazing 11-day itinerary, but we’ll end up 741km (461mi) away in Ho Chi Minh City. In the Thai capital you’ll visit three of the city’s most iconic temples on a guided tour of the city, before resting your feet as you’re whizzed around the city on a Tuk Tuk during a thrilling food tour. From there it’s across the border into Cambodia, where you’ll watch a local Phare circus show and visit Angkor Wat at sunrise. Cross into Vietnam via speedboat and continue your exploration of the Mekong with a river cruise. Use a traditional row boat to visit rural villages and discover the canals and islets of the Mekong Delta, before returning to modern civilisation in Ho Chi Minh, where a market visit, cooking class and city tour awaits.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.
Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.
Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
